You can turn the lights off, turn the sound up, and allow yourself to really get immersed in what the games are trying to do.ДЄ real good horror game can get inside your head and get you immersed in the horror better than many movies can and provide a unique experience. But some of these games have some of the most memorable atmosphere in any game I've played, probably because they have to focus so hard on that element of it in order to make an effective horror experience.
